Shergroup takes the lead in providing outsourced global business services

Shergroup, one of the growing providers of outsourced business services, specialising in enforcement, security, legal services and IT solutions, is going from strength to strength through the success of its India-based outsourcing operation.

Claire Sandbrook, Chief Executive of Shergroup, the UK's leading High Court enforcement agency, has built up the company's outsourcing business  - which was established in India in 2007 -  to the point where it is seen as a new entrant in the fast-moving field of outsourced legal and business services.

The expansion into offering support services to professional practices, including legal and financial companies, comes after Shergroup, formerly known as Burchell and Ruston and dating its formation back to Joseph Burchell in 1780, invested ten years in diversifying its services for the benefit of its clients who are predominantly buyers of enforcement services. Today Shergroup India handles the needs of both internal and external clients.

Says Mrs Sandbrook: "We realised pretty early on that we had well proven systems, plus an experienced and focused team with the knowledge and skills to be able to provide similar services for our clients."

In recent years Mrs Sandbrook, who is also Chair of the UK's High Court Enforcement Officers Association and Treasurer of the Institute of Credit Management, has driven forward Shergroup's reputation as a leading brand for outsourced services to the credit industry.

Earlier this summer Mrs Sandbrook marked another important milestone in Shergroup's strengthening exposure to the North American when she addressed attendees and exhibitors at an "Outsourcing Collection Activity to Foreign Countries - Benefits and Pitfalls" conference at the National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys (NARCA) 2009 Spring Conference in Boston.

Shergroup's India operation is notable for a results-driven workforce of 41 specialist, highly-qualified staff providing outsourced business services, including administrative support, communications such as writing letters and emails, debt recovery, website design, data collation and transcription services. Modern data links and technologies mean the processes can be carried out quickly, whatever the time difference.

The growth and success of Shergroup's India operation is highlighted with the recent award of the international standard for quality ISO 9001 for Shergroup's India company's processing capabilities.

Shergroup has also developed the SHERPA case management system, a unique online service which enables clients of Shergroup to track the progress of cases in real time, providing a wealth of valuable data in the process.  The SHERPA system recently scooped the 'Innovative Solution of the Year' award at the Institute of Credit Management awards.
