Mrs Sandbrook is chief executive of Shergroup, which moved to Braintree from offices in Colchester to take advantage of the good road infrastructure and its closeness to Stansted.

It now employs about 100 staff from London to Leeds, Braintree and Delhi.

To celebrate the company’s move to its new surroundings around 80 guests enjoyed the casino-themed event and took their turn on gaming tables helping to raise around £900 for the Whizz-Kidz charity for children with disabilities.

Mrs Sandbrook said: "I wanted something a little more exciting than a cheese puff and a glass of wine, so the casino idea seemed to be a fun way to entertain our guests and raise money for a terrific cause. I also wanted to make sure my team enjoyed themselves - and give them a day to remember because we have had a great year and it has been thrilling to see them all so proud of the new Braintree offices.

" I didn't want to forget our supplier's and contractors either so invited them as well to say thanks for all their help in putting Shergroup House together. Equipping and furnishing an office turned out to be a bigger project than I imagined - but we did it with a lot of help from our friends. It was nice to be able to say a proper thank you for all their support over this last year and I think they all had a great time.”

Shergroup is unique because it employs both solicitors and High Court Enforcement officers specialising in the enforcement of the courts.

Its mission is to make the rules on enforcement easier to understand for people and organisations that need to take this course of action and it enforces thousands of judgments every year.
