JINGLE BELLS, JINGLE BELLS - SHERFORCE ON ITS WAY! |
For Sherforce clients, the determination of Sherforce Enforcement Officers to achieve results continues unabated, even in the holiday season. Our Enforcement Officers are out and about all over the Christmas and New Year period, enforcing judgments to ensure the cash keeps rolling in for all our clients.
As the team looks back over 2009, Sherforce can measure from its internal management stats just how many removals it has carried out across England and Wales, against a backdrop of indecision and lack of direction by other providers.
Instead of worrying about the logistics and the cost, Sherforce Enforcement Officers look for how to achieve a result from enforcing the judgment. So, some 308 cases where Sherforce Officers seized stock have been paid, along with 201 occasions when business equipment has been seized to compel payment of the debt. Sherforce also removed 198 vehicles, often from domestic addresses, which caused judgment debtors to meet their financial obligations. That's over 700 cases where the removal of goods led to full payment of the judgment.
In sharp contrast, only five cases involving household goods were sent to removal, underlining Sherforce's commitment to removing only the right type of goods in the right circumstances.

SHERFORCE ON THE BEEB |
 |
Sherforce was recently featured on the BBC's "Inside Out" programme, where it was filmed recovering thousands of pounds owed to property investors, working with Shergroup's client, Landlord Action.
Sherforce Enforcement Officers attended the home of a property investment adviser, who had been ordered by the small claims court to pay back more than £10,000 to two investors who were dissatisfied with the service they had received. The claim was transferred up to the High Court for enforcement, as it was over £600. As you can see from the picture opposite, there were plenty of assets to seize at the address of the judgment debtor.
Armed with a High Court Writ of Fi Fa, a Sherforce Enforcement Officer arranged for a recovery vehicle to remove the...

SHERGROUP HCEOs MEET THE PEOPLE'S COURT OF CHINA |

An eminent group of judges from China's Supreme People's Court - the highest court in their judicial system - met with officials from Shergroup, who were representing the HCEOA, on their recent visit to the UK to learn about the UK's methods of enforcement

EDUCATION AND TRAINING HIGH ON SHERFORCE AGENDA

Claire Sandbrook, as CEO of Shergroup and Chair of the High Court Enforcement Officers' Association, has called on other industry professionals to support improvements to education and training in order to raise standards across the enforcement industry.
Speaking at the HCEOA Stakeholders' Annual Luncheon in London this autumn, Claire said: "There is a need for a credible education pathway so that Enforcement Officers are sufficiently skilful, knowledgeable and qualified.
"It just will not do any more to 'get by'. Our members need to know the law and the rules, in terms of both Civil Procedure Rules and Insolvency Rules. They need to be communicators and they need to be confident in front- and back-office procedures."
Those present included representatives of the ICM, ILEX, the International Union, the International Union of Judicial Officers and the CCUA, to whom she said: "There is much we can learn from you on how to create modern, forward-thinking ways of training Enforcement Officers and updating their skills."
"We look to Government to help create a framework of National Occupational Standards for Enforcement Officers and we look to everyone here to support the need for professionalism. It is one of my personal sound bites that we need to move the perception of Enforcement Officers from blue collar to white collar in the public's mind."
