The Institute of Credit Management - known throughout
the credit and enforcement industry as the ICM
- is an organisation that Shergroup has had a
long and distinguished partnership with. These
links go back many years and have largely been
built upon the sterling efforts of Shergroup CEO
Claire Sandbrook and the strong relationships
she and a number of members of her staff at Shergroup
have built up with many of the officials at the
ICM.
Under the leadership of Chief Executive Philip
King and Institute Chairman Charlie Robertson,
along with the overseeing wisdom and guidance
of current Institute President Chief Bankruptcy
Registrar Stephen Baister and former President
Master Robert Turner, The Institute of Credit
Management has developed into Europe's largest
credit management organisation and the second
largest globally. It has become the trusted leader
in expertise for all credit matters, due to the
fact that it represents the profession across
all aspects of trade, consumer and export credit,
and all credit-related services.
Formed over 70 years ago, the ICM is the only
organisation representing those who work in the
credit industry to be accredited by Ofqual and
as such it offers a comprehensive range of training
services and bespoke solutions for the credit
professional via its website (www.icm.org.uk)
as well as providing services and advice for the
wider business community, including the acclaimed
ICM/BIS Managing Cashflow guides.
Of particular interest to Shergroup has been the
recent development of the ICM's High Court Enforcement
training module, jointly pulled together by the
ICM and the HCEOA - a development that was initiated
by Claire during her stint as HCEOA chair and
overseen by the ICM learning and development team
headed up by Debbie Tuckwood and Kerry Walsh.
Indeed, Claire is particularly proud of the role
she has played in helping the ICM to develop and
grow in recent years. Having previously held posts
including Chair of the Essex branch of the ICM
and National Treasurer, in 2011 she held the post
of National Vice-Chair of the Institute.
It was in this role that Claire recently spoke
at an ICM Regional Roadshow at Pelham House in
Lewes, East Sussex - appearing alongside Philip
King and ICM Vice-President Brenda Linger - where
she gave a very well received presentation on
successful judgment enforcement, providing practical
advice and handy tips to an appreciative audience
who were only too pleased to take advantage of
Claire's many years of experience in the enforcement
industry.
In addition to Claire's personal role, other members
of the Shergroup TEAM (including Sharon Housden
and Chris Bell) have recently given well received
presentations to ICM conferences, and of course
Shergroup proudly remain the ICM's Corporate Partners
and preferred providers for all civil enforcement
matters.
The relationship between Shergroup and the ICM
is one that Claire wants to continue and improve
over the coming years.
Claire says:
"I have been immensely proud of the relationship
that has developed between Shergroup and the ICM
over the years, and particularly of my stint as
Vice-President of the organisation. I hope this
relationship will continue and go from strength
to strength in the coming years."
